On September 7, TEM (Evan Herrington) posted a photo of his dog Boba Fett on a color-wheel background inspired by Katamari Damacy’s royal rainbow. YTMND pages followed that month. Encyclopedia Dramatica logged it June 24, 2008; it was 4chan /b/’s 76 millionth post on July 5, 2008. MemeGenerator’s template (Ferenc Somos, 2009-03-19) made the bad-advice macro the default. Know Your Meme added the entry December 12, 2008.
