What is the Yao Ming Face meme?

Yao Ming Face (also Bitch Please) is a black-and-white rage-comic contour drawing of NBA center Yao Ming’s wide, dismissive grin. This blank is the line-art face on white, used as a top/bottom reaction for smug disbelief — not the May 2009 press-conference photo it was traced from.

Origin & history

The grin is from a Houston Rockets post-game press conference in May 2009 (source still metadata 2009-05-01), after teammate Ron Artest (later Metta World Peace) left the interview. On July 11, 2010 Reddit user downlow posted unused rage-comic drawings including a trace of that still; commenter alkalait nicknamed it “bitch please.” It entered the r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu template pack on August 31, 2010 and a “dumb bitch” comic on September 13, 2010. Know Your Meme added the entry February 24, 2011.
